Field Visits

Field visits have been organised to clinics at or near urban slums. Delegates will get an opportunity to personally observe the activities being conducted and interact with the medical workers and the beneficiaries. Also, they will experience and see the changes being brought about through the activities.

On 12 Feb 2015, there will be two field trips; Delegates may book for any one of the two trips. On 13 Feb 2015, there will be two field trips; Delegates may book for any one of the two trips. Similarly, on 14 Feb 2015, there will be three field trips; Delegates may book for any one of the three trips. Arrangements possible for a limited number of participants on a first come first served basis.

Following is brief description of the field trips arranged. The charges for site visits will be donated to the organization/institution visited, after deduction of actual costs.   1. Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS):
    One of the world’s largest and most unique programmes for early childhood development, ICDS is India’s response to the challenge of providing pre-school education on one hand and breaking the vicious cycle of malnutrition, morbidity, reduced learning capacity and mortality, on the other.

    MR Bangur Hospital, an ISO 9001:2008 certified Government Hospital, is the district hospital of South 24 Parganas. It serves the massive population of the district as well as the adjoining metropolitan area. The various clinics in the OPD serves around 1200 – 1500 patients per day and around 150 patients are admitted daily to be dispensed medical attention of various nature. The hospital is currently equipped to serve patients in 650 beds with new facilities being added each day. The Missionaries of Charity serve the poorest of the poor at their Homes for the dying destitute, abandoned children, and physically and mentally challenged persons.   3. National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases (NICED):
    National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases is where Robert Koch cultured the cholera organism which he first visualized in Alexandria, Egypt. Nearly 70 years later, the toxin that caused cholera was discovered in India by S. N. De in Kolkata and by N. K. Dutta in Mumbai. NICED is the WHO Collaborative Centre for Research and Training on Diarrhoeal Diseases.

Cancellation Terms:

  • On or before 24th Jan 2015, 20% Cancellation fee will be charged
  • After 25th Jan 2015, No refund will be made.
  • Cancellation to be emailed to the Congress Secretariat at . Verbal communication not admissible.
  • Date of receipt of communication for cancellation will be used for calculating amount of refund.
  • All the above trips will operated on the basis of minimum 12 pax booked, else the trip will be cancelled and the money will be refunded.
  • All refunds will be processed 30 days after the closure of the congress.
